In Kyiv, half a million was spent on repairing a shelter in a kindergarten

Almost half a million dollars in damage was caused to the state during the repair of a shelter in a kindergarten. In the capital, police reported suspicion to an entrepreneur who was supposed to monitor the quality of the relevant work.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.

According to law enforcement officials, investigators from the Shevchenko Police Department found that an agreement was concluded between the Department of Urban Planning, Architecture and Land Use of the Shevchenko State Administration in Kyiv and a local businessman for technical supervision of the overhaul of a shelter in a kindergarten.

The police note that, despite the fact that the entrepreneur was supposed to supervise the repairs, he, without first being convinced of the quality of the work performed, still signed the acceptance certificates. As a result, the façade of the preschool educational institution building sank.

“The contractor provided inaccurate information about the cost of repair work, which amounted to more than 600 thousand UAH. In fact, their cost is about 170 thousand UAH,” law enforcement officers explain.

Let us note that in this way the territorial community of the city of Kyiv suffered damage of about 430 thousand UAH.

Thus, investigators informed the entrepreneur of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367). In addition, the capital police note: a separate criminal proceeding has been launched under Part 4 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code (appropriation, embezzlement of property through abuse of official position).

“To establish the reasons for the deformation of the building and the cost of restoration repairs, a construction and technical examination has been appointed, based on the results of which the actions of officials of the Shevchenko state administration and the contractor will be assessed,” law enforcement officers added.
