In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained suspects in a robbery. The attackers grabbed the entrepreneur as he was walking to his car, pushed him into the entrance, handcuffed him to the handrail and took away his bag with more than 2 million UAH.
This was reported by the Metropolitan Police Communications Department. The suspects face up to 15 years in prison.
According to law enforcement officers, the event occurred in early November of this year in the Podolsk district of the city.
“That day, the entrepreneur left the house and was heading to the car with a bag of money, which contained more than 2 million UAH. When the man went out into the street, two unknown men attacked him, forced him into the entrance, struck him, threw tear gas in his face, after which they handcuffed him, fastened him to the handrail of the stairwell and took away his bag with money,” said the police chief. Kyiv Dmitry Shumeiko.
To cover their tracks while moving around the city, the attackers changed several times to different public and private transport, but they were discovered and detained.
One of the accomplices was previously convicted of a series of serious crimes, including robbery and premeditated murder; he is a local resident born in 1964. The other is a native of Kherson, born in 1993. The organizer of the attack turned out to be the wife of one of the perpetrators - a Kiev resident born in 1985. They divided the stolen money among themselves.
As noted in the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings have been initiated into robbery committed by an organized group under martial law, and the detainees were informed of suspicion. During searches at the location of the attackers, part of the stolen funds was seized - 5 thousand US dollars.
