Ukraine is preparing to open declarations of military commissars and doctors of military medical commissions for public access. This initiative also affects employees of territorial recruitment and training centers, as well as all medical workers employed in military medical commissions.
The chairman of the Public Council under the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Ekaterina Butko, spoke about this on Radio Liberty.
According to Butko, the opening of electronic declarations of military commissars and doctors from the Military Military Commission is a request of the current Ukrainian society. People were shocked by the recently revealed facts of the fabulous enrichment of military commissars, who, in less than two years of war, managed to amass millions of dollars in hard currency, and some even bought themselves luxury real estate abroad. Therefore, taking into account this request from society, the issue of opening declarations of these categories of home front workers is now being considered.
“Declarations of TCC representatives, as well as VVK employees, will be open. This is an exception, and this was also what was said when the bill was passed. Considering all the scandals with lifestyle monitoring, everything that was discovered from TCC representatives, their declarations should definitely be open. This was the position, including, of the head of the anti-corruption committee, and many others,” explained the head of the Public Council under the NAPC.
At the same time, Ekaterina Butko emphasized that the military’s declarations will remain out of public access. Considering how tense society is now, it would be short-sighted to open the declarations of military personnel, as well as members of their families. Information about their property status can become a real threat to members of military families who are located in the rear.
“Obviously, due to security components, some of the declarations should be closed, because these are declarations of military people, these are declarations of intelligence officers, these are declarations of people whose family members mobilized and went to fight. Of course, such declarations should be closed,” emphasized Ekaterina Butko.
