As a result of the modernization of a boiler house in the Kyiv region, a utility worker and his contractor received a profit of over 3 million hryvnia

The director of a utility company in the Kyiv region and the contractor were charged by law enforcement agencies. When installing heat-generating equipment for a boiler house in Bila Tserkva, they allegedly illegally took possession of more than 3 million hryvnia.

This was reported by the press service of the Kiev Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.

“According to the investigation, the director of the utility company, in collusion with the contractor, based on the results of work to modernize the equipment of a multi-fuel boiler house in the city of Bila Tserkva, entered false information into the reporting documentation. They inflated the volume and cost of work by installing equipment that did not comply with the terms of the contract, was less powerful and lower in cost,” the press service said.

The contractor used the money received from the utility company to purchase the property of the company he headed. As the examination established, more than UAH 3 million in damage was caused to the local budget.

The attackers were informed of suspicion of embezzlement of other people's property and official property. The contractor is also charged with legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

As OBOZ.UA reported, Kyiv police reported suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds to the general director of a construction company. The attacker “earned” almost 200 thousand hryvnia from the renovation of the Taras Shevchenko Museum.
