Servant of the People refused to support Bezugla’s statements about the need for Zaluzhny to resign

MP from the Servant of the People Maryana Bezugla spoke out about the need for the departure of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, arguing that he did not provide a plan for the next year. The party's press service responded by stating that each party member is responsible for his own statements.

MP from the Servant of the People and member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Maryana Bezugla said that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny did not provide a plan for the next year, so the military leadership of Ukraine must leave. The party's press service responded to the deputy's statement, essentially admitting that the faction is not responsible for the words of its members.

Journalists from the publication “Ukrainian Pravda” turned to the representative of the press service of the parliamentary faction of the “servants”, Yulia Paliychuk, to clarify whether Bezuglaya’s statement can be considered the position of the party or faction.

In response, Paliychuk stated that Bezugla herself is responsible for her words. “Please contact Maryana Bezuglaya. She is her own press service and is responsible for her own words,” Paliychuk said.

Earlier, in her Facebook post, Bezugla stated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny allegedly “did not provide a plan for 2024,” so the military leadership of Ukraine “must leave.” “Yes, the Commander-in-Chief of the Legislative Forces of Ukraine was unable to provide a plan for 2024. Neither large nor small, neither asymmetrical nor symmetrical. The military simply said that they need to take away at least 20 thousand citizens a month,” the deputy wrote.

Bezugla claims that this problem arose in the summer, during discussions at meetings of the General Staff and in parliament during the planning of the 2024 budget.

“We asked what to plan for? How do you see the war? Why create a brigade and not supplement existing ones? How much will the brigade, the new brigade, cost? These are still new headquarters, with combat units? Should funds be included for rotation and demobilization? What about training? What about rotations? Why is there no provision for the purchase of turnstiles in general in 2024, for example? Do you understand that one dead person costs the state 15 million hryvnia, and a SAT-type turnstile costs 10 thousand times less? Apart from the tragedy of death as such,” the “servant’s” entry says.

“This discussion was not public, but the tension was growing, and now the situation is such that if the military leadership cannot provide any plan for 2024, and all their proposals regarding mobilization boil down to the fact that more people are needed without any proposal to change the system Ukrainian Armed Forces, then such leadership must leave,” Bezugla concluded.
