In Ukraine they propose to lower the conscription age: is there a need and what is the pace of mobilization?

Dmitry Lazutkin, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, spoke about a significant increase in the pace of mobilization in the country

Dmitry Lazutkin, speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, told NV about the increasing pace of mobilization in the country, the real needs of the troops and the importance of clear communication with those liable for military service. He noted that more than two months have passed since the new law on mobilization came into force, and during this time more than 4.6 million military personnel, conscripts and reservists have updated their credentials.

In conversation with New Voice Ukraine. Lazutkin stated:

“Now the pace of mobilization has increased. We have indicators that differ significantly from those at the end of winter or early spring. The main thing is that this momentum is not lost and that systemic replenishment actually occurs.”

The speaker also noted: “The new law has pushed people to take an active position, take responsibility for their own destiny and begin to look for themselves in the Ukrainian army, in the ranks of the Defense Forces - go to websites, inquire about positions that correspond to their skills and education.” .

Lazutkin emphasized that to improve the mobilization process, it is necessary to reduce uncertainty and provide people with more information about opportunities for professional and career development in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As of now:

– The pace of mobilization has increased significantly.

– More than 4.6 million military personnel have updated their credentials.

– There is no urgent need to reduce the mobilization age, but the situation may change depending on the needs of the troops.

At the same time, an officer of the intelligence department of the Rubezh brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Vitaly Lytvyn, expressed the opinion that it is necessary to reduce the mobilization age to 22 years due to a lack of personnel. Lytvyn noted that in his unit there were servicemen who were 19 years old, and they effectively carried out combat missions.

Information from the Ministry of Defense:

— Of the 4.6 million updated data, specialists will initially be called upon, in particular UAV operators and IT specialists.

— The TCC will not issue summonses on the streets after updating the data and registering violators in “Reserve+”.

— There will be no electronic subpoenas in “Reserve+” yet.

— The statement that everyone is sent to stormtroopers is erroneous.

Dmitry Lazutkin noted that people’s motivation has changed and now Ukrainians weigh their decisions more consciously, looking for units that meet their skills and desires.
