The Agency for Search and Management of Assets of Ukraine (ARMA), together with other departments, will develop a procedure for managing confiscated virtual assets.
The meeting of the parties took place on October 17, 2023. During the meeting, participants discussed a number of issues related to the management of seized virtual assets as a digital thing.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the corresponding bill in August 2023. Read more about the concept of a digital thing in a separate article.
Among the topics raised was the issue of profit for the state treasury from seized assets. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to formulate a legislative basis in the form of a list of recommendations, which will be sent to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
Also during the meeting, ARMA reported on the results of its activities. From the second half of 2022 to October 16, 2023, virtual assets worth 223,531 USDT were tracked and seized.
Over the same period, the agency sent 19 requests for information to centralized crypto exchanges. ARMA noted that they intend to intensify this cooperation.
