In the Transcarpathian region, law enforcement officers exposed a scheme at the East European Slavic University. Officials of a private university fictitiously enrolled men liable for military service in exchange for bribes for training. The status of an education applicant with a deferment from mobilization cost the draft dodgers more than $2,000.
The detention of the rector of the East European Slavic University Lyudmila Nesukh was reported by sources in law enforcement agencies. According to information from Uzhgorod City Council deputy Vitaliy Glagoly, in addition to her, a former vice-rector and an employee of the Military Law Enforcement Service was a participant in the scheme.
“Men of military age received the status of an education applicant for 1,500 euros and a deferment from mobilization for 500-1,000 dollars. As a result of the searches, more than 4.5 million UAH in different currencies were seized,” Vitaliy Glagola wrote on Telegram.
At the moment, it is known about about three hundred draft dodgers who, for a bribe, managed to obtain the status of an education applicant at the East European Slavic University.
