Video of beating of a TCC employee by Roma in Transcarpathia - police opened a criminal case

The police have opened a criminal investigation into the brawl in Mukachevo, the video of which is being distributed on social networks. In the footage, unknown persons inflicted bodily harm on a man in military uniform.

This was reported by the representative of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region Anna Dan

According to the speaker, the event took place on one of the streets of Mukachevo.

“Employees of the district police department identified the people recorded in the video. It is known that the victim is a serviceman. Previously, the conflict arose at the everyday level and was not related to the man’s official activities,” said Anna Dan.

Investigators qualified the event under Part 2 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for restriction of freedom for a term of up to 5 years or imprisonment for a term of up to 4 years.

All necessary procedural actions are ongoing in the case to establish the causes and circumstances of the commission of this crime. The perpetrators will be held accountable as provided by law, the speaker added.
