VIP drug dealer Chernetsky was taken into custody in the second case

In Kyiv, the trial of the case of VIP drug dealer Yuri Chernetsky, accused of trafficking cocaine in the capital's clubs, continues. The court decided to take the attacker into custody in a case that his lawyers tried to close.

The accused faces up to 10 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

“At the request of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, by decision of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a 50-year-old Kiev resident accused of systematically illegally selling cocaine in nightclubs and storing ammunition without permission provided for by law (Part 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine , Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court also set a bail amount of almost 3 million. 940 thousand hryvnia,” the press service reported.

The prosecutor's office recalled that in May 2023, by decision of the judge of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, this case was closed due to the expiration of the pre-trial investigation. Law enforcement officers succeeded in overturning the illegal decision in the appellate court, so the consideration of the case continues.

“We note that the accused is already serving a sentence in accordance with the verdict of the Boryspil court, upheld by the court of appeal. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison for selling cocaine in another case,” the press service added.
