The Kiev government, according to some, has transformed into a body that serves the interests of large developers and has moved away from caring for the residents of the city of Kyiv.
Returning to the topic of the metro in Kyiv. One of Mayor Klitschko’s mistakes, which borders on malfeasance, is the actual destruction of the metro construction cluster in the capital.
All the world's megacities that are building metro systems do so in a continuous format. That is, the construction process does not stop and is constant. New metro stations are introduced every year.
The famous Ukrainian economist and financial analyst Alexey Kushch writes about this in his Telegram channel.
And this is not due to excess money. This is precisely because of saving money. Because launching a metro construction program requires huge initial investments.
These are gigantic fixed assets, thousands of highly qualified specialists, hundreds of related enterprises. If this is stopped, people go to other cities, the cluster is destroyed, and fixed assets “disappear.”
Our metro builders have dispersed all over the world. It will now be very difficult to restore the construction of the metro in Kyiv. This will require investments many times greater than when this process is not interrupted.
Also, an industrial cluster was destroyed in Kyiv. The only thing that flourished under Klitschko was commercial construction. Endless shopping malls and office centers built for stupid money in the hope of “reserving” a place in the sun for the future.
The Kiev authorities have turned into a servicing appendage of the big business of developers, completely moving away from the interests of Kiev residents who travel by metro and who need jobs, and not just another entertainment centers.
