The SBI transferred 104 million hryvnia to the state budget, seized from the deputy of the Rivne Regional Council, who was the deputy chairman of the Polesie forestry office of the State State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”, Vitaliy Sukhovich.
In November 2023, the deputy was found to have undeclared wealth worth millions of dollars. As part of open criminal proceedings, searches were carried out, including in his home and the workplace of the deputy and members of his family. During the investigation, more than $4 million in cash alone was discovered and seized in various currencies.
Law enforcement officers also found three luxury cars Audi Q8, Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 e, BMW X5, jewelry and expensive watches, in particular the elite brand Patek Philippe. Gold coins, gold bars, 2 pistols, a Kalashnikov assault rifle with 16 magazines and cartridges were discovered.
The deputy owned four plots of land in Rivne, on which he built cottages. The plots are registered to nominees controlled by the “chosen one”.
SAPS prosecutors reached a plea agreement with the suspect in early May. HACS approved the agreement and determined the punishment with a probationary period of 3 years and determined the amount of funds subject to special confiscation: $1,340,087.97, 1,034,615 euros and 1,561,800 UAH, which at the rate of the National Bank is 104 million 311 thousand 474 hryvnia.
