At the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, held with the participation of the President of Ukraine, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, was criticized due to the lack of temporary reception centers for internally displaced persons in the capital. It is worth noting that Vitali Klitschko was not present at this Congress.
“Kharkov has taken it into account and is holding internally displaced persons. People come and they get help there. While the documents are being processed, the authorities are taking care of them. Kharkov region – 15 temporary residence places for IDPs. And Kyiv - not a single one. You say that you do not have IDPs. Stop doing this. Look at the people who come,” said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk.
She emphasized that internally displaced persons come to the capital every day.
“These are hundreds of people a day who are fleeing war from the occupied territories. Often they even travel without passports, traveling lightly. The authorities are not reacting at all. Please edit. This is shameful,” Vereshchuk emphasized.
The head of the KMVA, Sergei Popko, noted that a coordination center for interaction with internally displaced persons and three public spaces in three districts were created in Kyiv on the basis of the communications center.
At the same time, Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko did not join the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine. To which Popko responded: “There is no mayor.”
Let us remind you that the President is on a working trip in Lviv on December 15. He took part in a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities .
