In Lviv, a driver candidate tried to bribe the examiner during a practical exam

At the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lvov, a driver candidate was identified who tried to bribe the examiner before the start of the practical exam.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The report says that before the start of the practical exam, the young man handed over his documents and an application for passing the exam to the examiner. There was money in the statement. Exactly how much money was there is not specified. All these events unfolded in the car for the practical exam.

The examiner, seeing the money, began recording everything on a video camera. He also immediately reported the incident to the police.

Subsequently, police arrived at the scene. A statement from the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine states that the driver candidate tried to hide the money. But when he wanted to do this - before the police arrived or after their arrival - we do not know.

Now this young man faces criminal liability under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Offer, promise or provision of unlawful benefits to an official). Punishment under this article ranges from a fine to 4 years in prison, depending on the severity of the crime.

Law enforcement officers are now establishing all the circumstances of this incident. It is possible that there was no attempt at bribery. The money could simply be lying in the documents of the driver candidate, without the intention of transferring it to the examiner.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is currently reforming the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and strengthening control over the passing of theoretical and practical exams for obtaining driver's licenses. In particular, in some territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs it is no longer possible to take exams for a driver’s license. Only in 55 territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs you can take exams.

As a result, some driver candidates have to travel to other cities to take the theoretical or practical test. Candidates have to spend time, money and effort on these trips. Some Ukrainians on social networks complain that they have to wait several hours for exams to begin.

Why has the number of territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs where you can take theoretical and practical exams been reduced? In order to make it easier to control exams and the process of obtaining a driver's license, in order to reduce the level of corruption.
