SBI employees, in cooperation with the SBU, reported suspicions to the ex-head of one of the military training centers, the head of the medical service of this center and eight private entrepreneurs regarding the supply of low-quality military first aid kits, the SBI press service reports.
It was established that eight contracts were concluded between the training center and entrepreneurs for the supply of 30 thousand 773 first aid kits for a total amount of 58.5 million hryvnia.
At the same time, military officials did not control the quality of the supplied first aid kits.
Subsequently, the examination confirmed that the first-aid kits do not meet established standards, do not have the proper components, and the available drugs are not of adequate quality. Thus, the use of the contents of such first aid kits could harm the health of our military personnel.
As a result of the supply of low-quality products, the state suffered damage in the amount of 58.5 million hryvnia.
The former head of the training center was informed of suspicion of inaction of the military authorities (Part 4 of Article 426 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). To the head of the medical training center - negligent attitude towards military service (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of these articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 10 years.
Private entrepreneurs who supplied low-quality first-aid kits were informed of suspicion of fraud committed on a large scale. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years.
