The High Council of Justice approved the detention of four judges of the court of appeal in Kyiv

Four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal are suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 35 thousand dollars for making a decision to cancel the seizure of property. On December 4, the High Council of Justice, at the request of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, agreed to the detention of these judges.

According to the SAPS press service, the High Council of Justice recognized the arguments of the presentation as justified and agreed to keep the defendants in custody. In the near future, SAPO's requests to choose measures in the form of detention will be considered by the investigating judge.

On November 30, SAP prosecutors reported the suspicion to four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal. They are charged with Part 3 of Art. 28, part 4 art. 368 of the Criminal Code.

The case concerns such judges of the Kiev Court of Appeal as Vyacheslav Dzyubin, Igor Palenik, Yuriy Sliva and Viktor Glinyany.

In particular, they are suspected of receiving a bribe for lifting the seizure of two planes of the Ukrainian airline Constanta.

One of the aircraft, according to investigators, was used by the Motor Sich company, whose president, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, is suspected of collaboration and assistance to the aggressor state.

According to the prosecutor, Judge Dzyubin was an intermediary in obtaining funds. The other three made decisions on the case.

So, Dzyubin received 35 thousand dollars from a lawyer representing the airline. He kept 10 thousand of them for himself. The rest was given to Palenik in a whiskey box.

He, in turn, exchanged 16,600 dollars for other bills and gave them to Plum and Glinyany (8,300 each). Plum gave the money in a pack of coffee, and Clay - as an advertising brochure. During the searches, the investigation revealed 34 thousand 800 dollars, which were transferred as a bribe.

The judges themselves deny any involvement in the crime.

The panel of judges of the Kiev Court of Appeal Glinyany, Sliva and Palenik granted the petition to lift the arrest on November 27. The full text of the decision was supposed to be announced on December 4, until it was published in the court register.

After permission from the Supreme Council of Justice, the prosecutor's office can submit a petition to the High Anti-Corruption Court to select a preventive measure for judges .

– On November 30, it became known that several judges of the Kiev Court of Appeal were detained on suspicion of bribery . Law enforcement officers did not name names; according to media reports, they are Deputy Chairman of the Court Viktor Glinyany, judges Vyacheslav Dzyubin, Igor Palenik and Yuriy Sliva.

– The persons involved were informed of suspicion . They face up to eight years in prison.

– The Kiev Court of Appeal made a public statement in connection with the detention of four judges. They emphasized that the court staff is not aware of the circumstances of the criminal case, which is being investigated by law enforcement officers.
