In the spotlight

Who is behind Maryana Bezugla?

Maryana Bezuglaya has long become a symbol of inadequacy. Just like V. Medvedchuk - a symbol of betrayal. But there is something, or rather, someone, who connects them. And even, one gets the impression, it inspires the people’s deputy to be so, to put it mildly, insane.

There are two not very public deputies in the SN faction - Yuri Zdebsky and Alexander Fedienko, who ended up in the Servant of the People against the backdrop of the then electoral euphoria. At that time, many dubious people got there; it was easy to do even for the “sleeper agents” of the pre-empire.

These two MPs are trying to keep a low profile, but the votes give them away. Both were among the 70 deputies who did not support the bill banning Medvedchukov’s OPZZH and other pro-Russian parties. Who failed the vote for opening declarations, but voted for opening the land market to foreign investors, despite election promises.

Regarding the connection between Bezuglaya, Zdebsyogo and Fedienko.

For example, Fedienko is the author of the scandalous bill No. 7551 on Stalin’s executions of military personnel without consideration or investigation for failure to comply with orders, co-authored by Bezuglaya. There is no need to explain how such provocations negatively affect the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and play into the enemy’s favor.

And Zdebsky is a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, where Bezuglaya was recently a deputy. And since 2023, he has been a member of the subcommittee on democratic civilian oversight and control, which Maryana directly headed.

The trio are also connected by significant lobbying activity.

In addition to legislative work, Yuri Zdebsky was noted for other activities, in particular as a loving father. After all, only such a person could use his influence to help the company of the son of Konstantin Yurievich Zdebsky, Legal Finance & IT, receive dubious tenders worth more than 4 million hryvnia. However, not everything went according to plan and the company came under investigation for fraud.

And Yuri Zdebsky’s assistant, Igor Garmashov, was detained and will be tried for high treason. By the way, he was not only an assistant, but also spoke on the National Security Committee and received from Zdebsky sensitive information related to state secrets, which, according to the investigation, he passed it on to Moscow.

This “people's deputy-patriot” with such an assistant is involved in our national security... Alexander Fedienko is also an extraordinary person.

In his financial activities, he is closely connected with business in the Russian Federation. He owned the dairy products manufacturer Galakton (he owned 100% of the company's shares), 95% of which is now owned by Danone Russia, which was nationalized by Putin's authorities last year.

At one time, he registered Rapira LLC, which produced the Rapira R2-AP1-F2 model (these are radio routers for mobile communications) for NPO Rapira, a defense enterprise of the Russian Federation.

When in November 2023, the head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuri Shchigol, was suspected of embezzling 62 million hryvnia, Fedienko, together with People’s Deputy Mikhail Kryachko, asked for permission to take Yuri on bail. This concern for the head of the State Service for Special Communications is apparently caused by the fact that Fedienko is promoting bill No. 8087, which expands the powers of the civil service so much that it places it above the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense.

Needless to say, how dangerous during a war will be the existence of the State Special Communications Service - a monster with almost unlimited powers and with a corrupt official in the leadership chair?

However, the main activity of the Bezuglaya-Fedienko-Zdebsky trio is banal earnings from military budget tenders, which was greatly facilitated by Bezuglaya’s position.

Professional circles are convinced that these three are lobbyists for the company SEE LLC, which over the past years has received tenders worth 4 billion hryvnia. From the side of the General Staff, they were assisted by Major General Vladimir Koval, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Viktor Nazarov, who until 2019 was the First Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to some indications, it was Koval who contributed to the victories at the tenders of SEE LLC. And Nazarov at one time helped with the promotion of the Dzvin-AS system, which was supposed to become an automated system for the center of operational management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, after 4 years of development and more than 600 million hryvnia of expenses, it still did not work, which was investigated by Bigus.Info. The deal was conducted through the Everest Limited company, which received budget funds.

Thanks to the scandals and the release of information, Fedienko, Zdebsky and Bezugloy were unofficially banned from participating in any subsequent tenders, and companies close to them were suspended. This was at the leadership level of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And two days after such a decision, Maryana Bezuglaya decided to publicly criticize the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Valery Zaluzhny personally.

I have no doubt that in this scheme Maryana tried to use her own public position to put pressure on the General Staff and return with her partners to cash flows. However, the desperate plan did not work.

Maryana Bezuglaya was removed from her post as deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Security Committee, and she announced her resignation from the party and the Servant of the People faction. That is, she was offended that it was not possible to lead the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense due to the scandalous attack. Yuri Zdebsky himself remains a member of the National Security Committee. Apparently, together with Alexander Fedienko, they will select another public partner and continue to look for ways to participate in dishonest tenders.

Will this benefit Ukraine, which is fighting back against full-scale aggression - a rhetorical question...
