Bail was made for the ex-head of the Supreme Court Knyazev: it was reduced seven times

Former Supreme Court Chairman Vsevolod Knyazev, suspected of involvement in a large-scale corruption scheme, was granted bail. The day before, the bail amount for Knyazev was reduced for the seventh time – to UAH 18.168 million. At the beginning of the consideration of the case, in May 2023, its size was determined at UAH 107 million.

According to the Anti-Corruption Center, the money for Knyazev was paid on Wednesday, January 31. Now he will be able to leave the pre-trial detention center.

“It is unlikely that someone from Knyazev’s family could have contributed the money on their own, since all of his assets have been arrested. Moreover, the defense said in December that the suspect’s family could contribute a maximum of UAH 10 million,” the CPC noted.

The public organization also recalled that two weeks ago Knyazev divorced his wife, with whom he had been married for almost 20 years. The wife explained that the actual marital relationship with her husband has been terminated since May 2023 due to incompatibility of characters, different views on life problems and ways to solve them.
