The main inspector of the emergency prevention department of one of the district departments of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ternopil region will appear in court.
This was reported by the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office .
He was charged with obtaining unlawful benefits for performing actions in the interests of a third party using the official position granted to him (Part 1, 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, employees of the State Emergency Service registered three private enterprises in the name of their relative, which specialize in providing fire-fighting services.
The State Emergency Service inspector suggested that heads of private and public enterprises, institutions and organizations receive services only from enterprises headed by a relative. “Kickbacks” for fire and industrial safety services amounted to 10-20 percent of the amount specified in contracts with customers. The money was transferred to the card of the enterprising inspector, as well as to the card of his wife.
Law enforcement officers documented several facts of his receiving illegal benefits in the amount of 56 thousand UAH.
Let us note that the maximum punishment provided for by the incriminated article is imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
