An FSB intelligence group was detained in Odessa: one of the agents used wigs for conspiracy

The Security Service of Ukraine neutralized the FSB intelligence group operating in Odessa. The enemy cell included two military men and their accomplice.

The press service of the department reports this.

On instructions from the Russian special service, the defendants scouted the locations of air defense systems defending Odessa. To establish the appropriate coordinates, agents systematically drove around the city and surrounding areas. When they discovered the desired objects, they secretly photographed them and marked their geolocations on Google maps.

Another task of the enemy group was the camouflaged installation of wireless magnetic cameras on the territory of the seaport of Odessa. For secrecy, the agents used taxi services, and their accomplice constantly changed wigs to disguise her appearance.

The SBU gradually documented all the facts of the aggressor’s reconnaissance and subversive activities and detained a resident of the FSB intelligence group and his accomplice while photographing a military facility. Another member of the enemy cell, a local resident, was detained in her home after she carried out additional reconnaissance near a potential target.

During the searches, mobile phones were confiscated from the detainees, which they had purchased and used exclusively for communication with the FSB. Security Service investigators informed the defendants of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 28, part 2 art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed by an organized group under martial law).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face life imprisonment. The special operation was carried out by SBU officers in the Odessa region under the procedural leadership of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense of the Southern Region.
