The conclusion of the VLK is considered valid for five years, - press secretary of the Ministry of Defense

Ukrainians liable for military service must update their data in the TCC and SP and undergo a military medical commission (VLK). However, not as often as most people think. As of May 2024, VLK data is considered valid for five years.

The speaker of the Ministry of Defense, senior lieutenant Dmitry Lazutkin, announced this during the telethon.

As before, repeated medical examinations of military reserves of 1st (up to 35 years of age) and 2nd (up to 60 years of age) categories, previously recognized as fit or limited fit in peacetime for health reasons, are carried out once every 5 years.

“Currently, the standard is that VLK is valid for 5 years. Changes are possible, that in wartime it will be accepted that every year it will be necessary to undergo the VLC,” said the speaker of the MOU.

It should be noted that even under the new law, upon receiving a summons, a person liable for military service must come to the territorial center for recruitment and social support and provide all the necessary data and documents.

If a person does not have grounds for a deferment from conscription for military service, he is issued a summons to undergo military training.

In wartime, a person undergoes a medical examination, even if he passed it before mobilization and was declared fit, because during this period circumstances could have changed. However, if a person is temporarily unfit and undergoing treatment, re-evaluation may occur 2-6 months in advance.

If a person is unfit for military service, a re-examination occurs after 6-12 months.

As previously reported, from July 18, 2024, summonses will begin to be sent by mail. In addition, the heads of condominiums will also have the authority to serve subpoenas. This is stated in Cabinet Resolution No. 560 of May 16, 2024 .
