Ukraine has submitted an application to the Council of Europe for a partial suspension of certain clauses of the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms in the country due to martial law.
We are talking, in particular, about the abolition of the right to dispose of one’s property, and also to restrict the freedom of movement of citizens, prohibit the holding of peaceful assemblies, rallies, processions, demonstrations and other mass events...
Was such an application submitted in February-March 2022? Why was this rather controversial document made public on the eve of the end of the five-year presidential term? The question involuntarily arises: is it weak to carry out mobilization normally?
It's time to hear comprehensive answers to drastic questions: when will the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, together with the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, turn to the people and tell them the bitter truth that the Ukrainian state is in an extremely threatening situation? When will they dare to say that we need not only weapons, not only finance, but also people who will fight with these weapons? Will they find the courage to promise that, first of all, their relatives, friends, close acquaintances will go to the TCC tomorrow and become an example for thousands of Ukrainians who do not dare to defend the Fatherland?
Andrei Sabiga's letter and application to the Council of Europe will not help the problem of conscription. Against the background of permanent corruption scandals on a state scale, it seems that the authorities do not want to fight, do not want to join the EU, but are preparing for separate negotiations. Meanwhile, judicial reform and reform of the law enforcement system, in particular the SBU, are moving forward in an opaque manner...
The law on mobilization adopted by the Verkhovna Rada is reminiscent of a voluntarian intention to turn Ukraine into a kind of concentration camp, where there will be no place for motivated patriotic defenders. The law should not be about “catching” so-called draft dodgers, but about mobilizing the entire state system, the entire economy of the state. First of all, mobilization should begin with the system of power, with the state apparatus.
In Great Britain Britain, children of the royal family fought in the world wars. Military service has always been a tradition for members of the British royal family. Thus, during the Second World War, Princess Elizabeth studied to be a driver and mechanic. In this century, Prince William retired from his flying career in the Royal Air Force. His brother, Prince Harry, served in Afghanistan as a military pilot.
A few more interesting examples. The future Queen of Sweden, Crown Princess Victoria, spent three weeks training at the International Center of the Swedish Armed Forces. And the future Queen of Denmark Margrethe in 1958-1970 was a recruit in the women's department of the Air Squadron, where she studied military affairs. She is now the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The daughter of King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde began studying at the Royal Military School in 2020.
23-year-old Princess Salma bint Abdullah, the youngest daughter of King Abdullah II of Jordan, graduated from the Royal Air Force Academy in Great Britain, where her father and older brother once studied. He believes that he will be a princess later when he grows up...
There were no draft dodgers in Finland during the time of Carl Gustav Mannerheim. In Israel, representatives of the political elite and their children are the first to join the armed forces. The sons of Bohdan Khmelnytsky bravely defended Ukraine from enemies.
Are all children of the Ukrainian “elite” courageous, moral and patriotic? Are they all examples of patriotic service to the Motherland?
Food for thought. In Ukraine there are 156 thousand military pensioners, 150 thousand police officers, tens of thousands of disabled people from the Ministry of Internal Affairs-SBU-Prosecutor's Office...
After the unfortunate letter signed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Sibiga to the consular offices of Ukraine about the temporary restriction of consular services, it will be difficult to talk about the unity of our society. Because we are already talking about “Ukrainians here” and “Ukrainians there” - 650,000 men who, by hook or by crook, ended up outside of Ukraine. But this is a separate topic. Another story.
We must remember well: the past is no more. The future depends not only on us. We need passionaries. And they are critically lacking.
The world-famous Ukrainian economist Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky emphasized: “We must not forget that the majority, the masses, in the very essence of the matter consists of people of average level, ordinary people; history is driven by a few guides of humanity, people with exceptional talent, heroes of thought and will.”
Indeed. The concept of “people” is a fiction. A people is first and foremost a biological population. Moreover, the population is heterogeneous - heterogeneous (only microbes are homogeneous, homogeneous). This is an extremely differentiated mass that lends itself quite easily to targeted information processing.
The psychological background of this indisputable fact was perfectly described by Anatole France in “Penguin Island”: “Of course, everyone immediately believed that Piro really stole eighty thousand bales of hay, without hesitating for a minute. There was no doubt about this, because no one knew anything about this case, and for doubt you need grounds: after all, it is impossible to doubt without reason, you can only believe without reason... Everyone wanted Piro to be guilty, and what you want, you believe in...
The Penguin crowd knew no doubt; she believed that Piro was guilty, and this belief immediately became one of the greatest national shrines, one of the main commandments of patriotism... Seven hundred relatives of Piro could not refute the evidence of the accusation, because they could not find out about them, and they could not find out about them, because that they didn't exist. Piro's guilt was undeniable, because there was nothing to deny. And therefore Gretok, like a true artist, once said with legitimate pride to General Panther: “This work is a masterpiece: it was made from nothing.” Just like the case of Colonel Roman Chervinsky...
Despite the war, many “servants of the people,” along with part of society, do not understand why Ukrainians need the values of the West, why Ukraine needs the culture of the Western world. It is not enough to loudly declare that, first of all, society itself must change, that it is necessary to destroy Sovietism and its derivatives - rudeness, paternalism, infantilism, lack of culture, opportunism, indifference, fatalism, obedience, immorality, corruption, greed, corruption. We need positive examples from the authorities.
If we desperately fight against the enemy, then we must fight against him together. The government and the people must be united. Like never before. Otherwise, we say “bye” to each other and go our separate ways. But we have no right to even think about such a scenario - the dramatic and tragic history of the Ukrainian state warns.
Let's draw conclusions. There is too little time left.
