The main provisions of demobilization should be prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers
The demobilization bill may be registered in parliament in October this year. Irina Friz, a people's deputy from European Solidarity and a member of the parliamentary committee on national defense issues, reported this in a commentary.
“According to the adopted law on mobilization, which already came into force on May 18, the Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with developing a corresponding bill on demobilization. At the working group of the committee (where representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff participated - Ed.) they discussed the timing of its introduction. It was compromised that it would be the month of October this year,” Freese said.
But provided that the positive dynamics continue, mobilization will take place in the next few months.
“According to information from the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, it (mobilization - Ed.) has improved significantly,” adds the parliamentarian.
She did not say what the current dynamics are, specifying that the Ministry of Defense can provide the figures.
So far, deputies do not have a final understanding of what will be proposed in the future demobilization bill. The timing of document registration is currently being discussed.
Her committee colleague and deputy from Servant of the People Fyodor Venislavsky also confirmed that the possibility of adopting the bill is “periodically discussed.” But disputes still continue over the advisability of demobilization during the war in Ukraine.
