NABU became interested in the deputy head of the SBI

He lives in an apartment for almost a million dollars in an elite residential complex

The National Anti-Corruption Agency opened criminal proceedings against the First Deputy Director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Alexander Udovichenko.

The day before, journalists found out that he lives in one of the most elite residential complexes in the capital, Regent Hill, but there was no information about this in his declaration.

As hromadske reports, this is stated in the NABU response. They noted that they had studied the journalists’ investigation and would begin a pre-trial investigation.

“As NABU explained, they cannot provide more information, since the state of the investigation constitutes an investigative secret, the disclosure of which could harm criminal proceedings,” the statement says.

As previously reported, journalists were able to find out that although Udovichenko does not have an apartment in the Regent Hill residential complex, Irina Kopach, the probable aunt of Kristina Kopach, the beloved SBI official, does.

The investigation says that Irina Kopach purchased an apartment of 125 square meters in 2022, and its cost is estimated at more than 37 million hryvnia. However, the contract states that the purchase price was only 1.9 million hryvnia. Kopach herself works as a cosmetologist in Odessa.
