Zelensky fired Danilov from the post of NSDC Secretary: who replaced him

President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Alexey Danilov from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“Dismiss Aleksey Myacheslavovich Danilov from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the document says.

At the same time, Alexander Litvinenko became the new secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

“To appoint Alexander Valerievich Litvinenko as secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” says decree No. 188/2024.

Prior to this, Zelensky fired Litvinenko from the post of head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.

Alexey Danilov

Graduated from Lugansk State Pedagogical University named after. T. Shevchenko, majoring in historian, East Ukrainian National University. V. Dalia, majoring in Master of Management and Lugansk Institute of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, majoring in lawyer.

In 1994 - 1997 he was the mayor of Lugansk, and in 2005 - 2006 he was appointed head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration, deputy director of the European Institute for Integration and Development.

Danilov was the thirteenth Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and held this position since October 3, 2019.

Alexander Litvinenko

In 2013 he graduated from the Royal College of Defense Sciences (RCDS), UK; in 2009 – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, majoring in jurisprudence; in 1994 – Institute of Cryptography, Communications and Informatics of the Academy of the Federal Grid Company of the Russian Federation, majoring in applied mathematics.

Litvinenko headed the Foreign Intelligence Service from July 23, 2021. Before that, from April 4, 2014 to August 13, 2019, he was Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
