What does the business of people's deputies sell in Ukraine?

Many people's representatives have their own businesses. From chocolate and sausage to jewelry and building materials, the range of goods is quite diverse.

According to the law on the prevention of corruption, deputies do not have the right to simultaneously work in the Rada and personally manage a business (conflict of interest). Therefore, they must transfer control to other enterprises or persons and not participate in decision-making. However, they have the right to continue to receive income while remaining owners.

1.Jewelry. Alexander Sova

People's Deputy from the Servant of the People party Alexander Sova is one of the founders of the popular Ukrainian brand SOVA. The jewelry house produces jewelry and has a network of more than 40 stores.

According to the YouControl analytical system, the assets of the deputy and his family are united in the so-called “Sova Family Group”. Alexander has 16.26% in Sova Jewelry House LLC, 52.04% in Sova Jewelry House LLC, 51% in Sova-Retail LLC.

His brother Yuri Sova and his wife Lyudmila Sova, who is engaged in entrepreneurial activities and will receive a salary from Sova-Retail LLC, are involved in the family business.

2.Confectioner. Gennady Vatsak

An ardent defender of the Moscow Patriarchate in Vinnytsia, Gennady Vatsak from the “Trust” parliamentary group, has two ultra-expensive cars. He became the first owner of an electric Rolls-Royce Specter in Europe (costs $600,000), and was also seen driving a 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost.

The people’s deputy’s cars are registered to his own confectionery house “Vatsak”. He is the founder of the Vatsak confectionery house and a beneficiary with a 100% share. As you can see from the cars, business is doing well.

The company bakes cakes, pastries and various sweets, selling them in its own stores (there are almost a thousand of them throughout Ukraine) and national retail chains.

3. Chocolate, flour, sugar. Petro Poroshenko

The surname of the fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is associated with chocolate and Roshen sweets. Although the politician transferred his business empire to his son Alexander several years ago. The confectionery company is part of the Ukrprominvest-Agro agricultural holding, which also produces flour and sugar.

Legal subtleties: the Ukrprominvest group unites more than 100 companies, its assets belong to the Prime Assets Capital fund. The main assets of the group are the Roshen confectionery corporation, the Ukrprominvest-Agro agricultural holding, the Peskovsky glass products plant (co-owner I. Kononenko), and the Energoavtomatika plant (co-owner A. Zimin).

4. Everything for repair. Alexander Gerega

The Epicenter hypermarket chain is owned by people's deputy from the For the Future group Alexander Gerega and his wife Galina. In the Epicenter network you can buy everything you need for repairs, stock up on flashlights and battery-powered lamps for blackouts, and buy car accessories.

In “Epicenter” Alexander Gerega has 51.30%, in New Line – 50.85%.

Gerega is also a former regionalist; he was a member of the Party of Regions faction in the Rada of the 7th convocation; on January 16, 2014, he voted for “dictatorial laws.” After the escape of Viktor Yanukovych on February 21, he left the faction.

5.Medicines. Konstantin Bondarev

People's Deputy from Batkivshchyna Konstantin Bondarev is a key person in the Veles group, according to YouControl. The main activities of the group are the provision of financial services and the food industry.

Bondarev is the beneficiary of the Senta Pharm company (100%) that sells the medicine.

6. Truck rental, hotels. Andrey Lopushansky

People's Deputy from European Solidarity Andrei Lopushansky has been involved in entrepreneurship since the nineties. His financial and industrial group provides hotel services and is involved in alternative energy.

In particular, he owns 51% in Herburt LLC, a company that provides truck rentals. Lopushansky founded Royal Hospitality Group LLC, which is engaged in the hotel business. This is the Geneva Hotel in the resort of Truskavets.

7.Update your wardrobe in Barabashovo. Alexander Feldman

A member of the parliamentary group “Restoration of Ukraine”, and before that OPZZh, Alexander Feldman, is a key person in the “AVEC” group.

The group includes the largest market in Eastern Europe, Barabashovo (Kharkov). You can still buy anything there, from clothes to spare parts.

But the market is going through hard times due to Russian shelling. In March 2022, a fire engulfed 7 hectares of the market. Sellers risk losing their outlets during shelling and must replace double-glazed windows from time to time. Also, part of the rows will be demolished for the construction of roads and residential complexes, but the shopping malls are promised to be rebuilt.

Now only part of the market is open, and Kharkov residents come here as a humanitarian hub (you can get clothes and food packages).

8. Sausage and stew. Ivan Tchaikovsky

Ternopil meat processing plant offers more than 50 types of stews, pates and porridges. The meat processing plant is part of the Agroprodservice group, which was founded by Ivan Tchaikovsky.

Now Tchaikovsky is a deputy of the “For the Future” group, and his wife Tatyana Tchaikovskaya is the beneficiary.

In addition to the legendary sausage from the Ternopil meat processing plant, the Agroprodservice group is engaged in crop production and works in the service sector (grain collection and drying).

9.Get gas at a gas station. Stepan Ivakhov

People's Deputy Stepan Ivakhov from the “For the Future” group is also known thanks to the Continuum group of companies, where he is one of the key persons.

The group's main profit comes from the second largest gas station network, WOG, and the dairy holding. Ivakhov has 47.5% in Cheese Club LLC, which positions itself as a Ukrainian premium cheese brand. The products can be found on Auchan shelves and Fozzy Group stores.

10.Corn and pies. Oleg Kulinich

People's Deputy from the “Trust” group Oleg Kulinich is the founder and ultimate beneficiary of the agricultural limited liability company “Oktan”. The farm grows corn, sunflowers, peas, and onions. Also has its own bakery.
