Despite active hostilities and constant shelling, more than 1,200 civilians live in Avdiivka. For the city, the main problem remains logistics.
This was reported by the head of the Avdeevka city military administration, Vitaly Barabash, during the telethon.
According to him, as of the morning of December 9, 1,253 people remain in Avdeevka. After the escalation of hostilities, the evacuation of local residents intensified, but has now slowed down again. In particular, due to the security situation.
“People say a lot of things when they refuse to go. One of these reasons is road safety. People see and hear everything... There are those who frankly don’t want to leave, there are also “waiters,” but there are not many of them,” Barabash said.
The head of the Avdeevskaya GVA added that the biggest problem remains logistics. As long as food and other necessary things are brought into the city along one route, it is dangerous. According to Barabash, there is a supply of food in Avdeevka, but there are problems with drinking water.
