The Ministry of Finance includes in the draft law “On the State Budget for 2024” an increase in the minimum wage from January 1 to UAH 7,100, and from July 1, 2024 – to UAH 8,000.
First Deputy Minister Denis Ulyutin announced this during an online meeting with associations of local governments, the press service of the Ministry of Finance reports.
He added that the projected official salary of an employee of the first tariff category of the Unified Tariff Schedule, frozen since December 1, 2021 at the level of UAH 2,893, is proposed to be increased to UAH 3,195 from January 1, 2024
Previously, the Ministry of Economy proposed to increase the minimum wage from 2024 by 14.2% - to 7,651 UAH per month from the current 6,700 UAH, and the salary of an employee of the first tariff category - to 3,443 UAH.
Ulyutin also said that in 2024, in order to support local governments, it is planned to provide almost 24 billion UAH of additional subsidies from the state budget to local budgets for the most affected front-line and front-line territories. The basic subsidy from the state budget to local budgets for the next year is projected to amount to 20.2 billion hryvnia.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Ermolichev clarified that from January 1, 2024, remuneration of civil servants should be carried out according to new rules - based on the classification of civil service positions and a grade system.
As reported, from October 1, 2022, the minimum wage in Ukraine increased by 200 UAH - to 6,700 UAH. There were no plans to increase the minimum wage in 2023.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Social Policy, the actual cost of living for able-bodied persons in April 2023 prices was UAH 7,782 per month.
