Energy Minister Galushchenko, answering a question about the likelihood of blackouts, called on Ukrainians to “prepare for any scenarios”

The Ukrainian energy system is now experiencing the greatest blows from the Russian Federation since the start of a full-scale war, and Ukrainians should prepare for any scenario.

Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated this in an interview with the Rada TV channel.

“The largest attacks on the energy system are now taking place, and March 22 was actually the largest attack in the entire period of great aggression, and the impact is very significant. But the key thing is that the system works stably. The goal of the Russian Federation is obvious - to achieve a total blackout in the country, they did not achieve it,” he said.

According to the minister, the damage to energy facilities is significant, and the energy sector will determine the possibilities of restoration - to what extent they exist at all, and what volumes can be restored. Regarding possible power outages, Galushchenko noted that the war continues and the attacks are not over yet.

“Accordingly, the answer to this question lies in further attacks and not even the fact of attacks, because they happen every day and night, but in terms of the impact of these attacks on the energy system,” the minister said.

Galushchenko noted that last year Ukrainians often asked him questions regarding blackouts and the need to buy generators or power banks.

“And I’ve always said that when the Minister of Energy says, ‘We’re all buying generators,’ it’s a little scary. But in fact, I want to repeat: “Yes, buy it, get ready, but we will do everything in our power so that you don’t need them.” And, as winter already shows, we did everything, and they were not needed,” the minister said

He added that massive Russian attacks have now resumed, so we must be prepared for any scenario.
