Due to the fact that the Rada extended martial law and general mobilization until August 20, Ukrainians aged 18 to 60 years old can receive a summons calling for them to defend their Motherland from Russian invaders.
The head of the sector of the Velikopisarevsky Legal Aid Bureau, Lyudmila Musienko, gave an explanation on this topic, adding that in Ukraine there are four types of summons.
Summons to clarify credentials
The appropriate type of summons can be served on the person liable for military service in order to subsequently enter his personal information into the database. We are talking about the conscript’s family status, information about his employment, and the presence of children.
Summons for passing the VLK
This type of document obliges a person of military age to undergo a medical examination. As a rule, in this case, the summons is accompanied by an examination and medical examination card of the person liable for military service, which indicates whether he is fit for military service or not.
Summons for conscription for military service
Such a summons must include the time frame when a citizen liable for military service must personally apply to the recruiting station. In addition, such a document indicates a list of what a person must have with him: a passport, a military ID (temporary certificate) or a certificate of registration at a conscription station (for conscripts), as well as a service record card and a mobilization order, provided that that one is available.
Mobilization order
This type of summons is given to persons liable for military service who have passed a medical examination and are found fit for military service. Basically, a mobilization order is handed over when mobilization is announced. The mobilization order specifies the obligation to report to a specific recruiting station within 24 hours after the announcement of mobilization.
