A US court has imposed a travel ban on Changpeng Zhao until a hearing is held.

The judge ruled to ban Changpeng Zhao from returning to the UAE. The defendant will have to remain in the United States until sentencing, which is expected on February 23, 2024.

Judge Richard Jones ruled that former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao must remain in the United States until his sentencing on February 23, 2024.

"Zhao will be required to remain in the US until a Seattle court considers whether he should remain until his sentencing hearing in February or be allowed to return to the UAE," reporters said .

It also said Zhao faces a maximum prison sentence of 18 months and has agreed to plead no contest.

It should be noted that earlier the United States government, in its petition to review the judge’s decision regarding the defendant’s departure from the country stated that CZ should remain free until sentencing, but only in the United States.
