Electricity tariffs: how much Ukrainians will pay in September

The tariff will be calculated as in August and will be 2.64 hryvnia. The price will not depend on the volume of electricity consumption. German Galushchenko, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, said on a national telethon that citizens will not pay the increased tariff until the end of this year’s heating season.

He said that for now there are no plans to change tariffs and hopes to end the heating season at the same price. However, everything will depend on the circumstances.

According to Galushchenko, the recent increase in electricity prices was a forced step. Such measures were due to the need to attract additional funds to repair the damaged energy system of Ukraine.

According to the minister, according to all calculations, it would not have been possible to restore the energy system before the onset of the heating season. It was necessary to carry out major repairs and carry out a large generation of the system. Only with the involvement of additional funds would this be possible in full and prepare for the cold weather. Therefore, it was decided to increase tariffs for the population. But when we should expect tariffs to increase and by how much they will increase, the minister did not answer.
