In Ukraine, prisoners began to be recruited to work in mines

Prisoners began to be recruited to work in the mines. The acquired skills will allow them to find employment in the future, and also allow them to pay compensation for damage caused by the crime.

This was stated by Minister of Justice Denis Malyuska

“Energy security is in good hands! Our prisoners started working as miners,” noted Malyuska.

According to the minister, in this way the labor shortage is filled, the prisoners themselves receive skills that facilitate employment in the future, as well as a decent salary that allows them to pay compensation for the damage caused by the crime, pay taxes, and fill the budget special fund.

According to Malyuska’s calculations, 10 workers produce 25 tons of coal per shift, which is the basis of energy security.
